A splendid item that is small yet is packed full of ancient Japanese style. The top and side boards are in a robust 5-piece construction. With traditional Japanese-style metal fittings decorated with a peony pattern. On the inside of the hinged doors there is kumiko latticework, and inside of this there is the appearance of a golden tearoom, said to be made by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The bottoms of the drawers are tatami mat style and there is also a uniquely Japanese hidden drawer. Designed so that a harmonica sounds when you open and close a drawer.
