In a design that looks covered with delicate flakes of silver, this is a pure silver kanzashi hair decoration featuring two holes in the shapes of cherry blossoms.Kanzashi are traditional Japanese women's hair decorations. They saw the height of their popularity in the 18th and 19th centuries in the latter half of the Edo era , when specialist artisans flourished and poured their skills into a wide variety of fine pieces. In modern Japan they have tended to be part of traditional coiffures--such as those worn by geishas and brides--but in recent years they are taking center stage once more as young Japanese women adopt them into Western outfits to add a touch of grace and elegance.
