The Ise cotton fabric is a comfy, quality kimono fabric has been woven painstakingly in 100-year-old Toyota looms.
This item's Ise cotton has been water-repellent processed, making for an ethical bag that aims to give you improved durability and water resistance.

The Ise cotton "Shichihenge Benkei" pattern is based upon Benkei lattice (named after the warrior monk Benkei's stage costume who appears in "Kanjinchō" of the Kabuki Jūhachiban) and is a pattern that has continued to exist since the Edo period.
Tenugui fabric is dyed after the cloth is woven. However, this is pre-dyed, so is woven after the threads have been dyed.
The only Ise cotton textile manufacturer, "Ise-Momen", has Ise cotton patterns in traditional designs with novel colors that have been handed down from the Edo period to modern times to meet the needs of customers. These patterns convey the "essence" of the people at a certain period in time.
