One of the representative traditional pottery styles of Kyoto, Kiyomizuyaki's name comes from the Kiyomizu neighborhood where the original kiln was said to be located, in the neighborhood on the hills facing Kiyomizu Temple.
The look of this item beautifully conveys the mind of Kyotoites that enjoy a "feast for the eyes". The pressed flowers over the gorgeous blue surface add an air of elegance.
