The clay used for the Tokonameyaki teapot has greater amount of iron oxide and this reacts with the tannin in the tea to decrease the bitterness and enhance the "umami". Comes with a ceramic strainer with fine perforation.

When the surface turns dark, wash with dishwashing detergent. The shine will return.
