A sakazuki sake cup with a hand-painted maiko pattern that brings to mind Japan.
[Aritayaki] In 1616, high quality kaolinite was discovered in Izumiyama, Arita, and a kiln was set up. Here, white porcelain was successfully fired for the first time in Japan. This is all thanks to Yi Sam-Pyeong, the forefather of Aritayaki. (Yi Sam-Pyeong is a potter brought back to Japan by Hideyoshi Toyotomi's troops who had been dispatched to Korea.) The word Aritayaki currently refers to porcelain fired in the area of Arita, Saga Prefecture. There are many overglaze paintings on translucent white porcelain in indigo, red, yellow, green etc., and there are 3 styles of historically discussed Aritayaki - Imari style, Kakiemon style and Nabeshima clan style.

Also when serving, immerse item in water before use. This will prevent the oil or sauce from staining the surface. *To keep item beautiful for a long time, washing by hand is recommended. *When hand washing, use a synthetic kitchen detergent and soft sponge or cloth. *Metal scourers, sponges with polishing agents, cleansers etc have adverse effects on the item surface so do not use them. *Porcelain will show stains after repeated use. In this sense, please kindly understand that this is similar in nature to glass. *Should there be no stock, item manufacture will take place after order placement. Depending on the item, delivery may be delayed. Contact customer service regarding the delivery date.
