In Japan it is popular as an auspicious symbol as its pronunciation in Japanese can also mean "bringing luck" and "no hardships". It also brings foresight, due to its great night vision and, as it can rotate its head well, relates to business prosperity.

Wajima-nuri has been cultivated through a long history and tradition, and has been continually lovingly used for everyday items as well as art works. It is a famous Japanese craft that has received high praise both in and outside of Japan. A feature of Wajima-nuri is the wonderful gloss it exudes when first used. This Wajima-nuri ballpoint pen carefully made using a traditional method that involves more than 100 steps until completion is the real deal. Wajima-nuri was used by the heads of each country at the Ise-Shima Summit. It overflows with hand-made gentleness and conveys a feeling of gratitude to someone you are indebted to. ・Oil-based ballpoint pen (rotating type): Medium thickness and with black ink. Use CROSS ballpoint pen refill 8513 when replacing.
