Can be washed with kitchen detergent and a sponge.
It's enough to use a sponge and synthetic detergent.
If marks just won't come off, soak in cold or lukewarm water for about 5 minutes then wipe lightly with a sponge for immediate results. |
It doesn't like microwaves or dishwashers/dryers.
Essentially, don't put lacquerware in a microwave or dishwasher/dryer.
The lacquer will quickly deteriorate.
Keep away from fire. Avoid boiling water.
If it gets too close to fire, changes in color and shape can occur and it may break.
It's the same as with plastic.
Just as you would with a person, use with food at a heat that wouldn't burn. |
Don't soak in water for a long time. The lacquer itself will be fine, but if small scratches and holes exist water will enter through them and gradually damage the wood base. |
Lacquer is easily damaged by UV rays, and sunlight will change its colors.
Please store out of direct sunlight. |
If the smell begins to bother you, please store in a container of rice for a few days and any odor will disappear. |

Polishing with a dry cloth is effective.
If you do this gently, a beautiful luster will develop. Marks from the water droplets won't remain, and you'll be able to use it happily. Lightly polish after brushing the dirt from the lacquerware with a soft cloth. |
Wash separately from ceramic etc.
If you wash lacquer together with ceramic or glass, it will develop scratches. Wash lacquerware separately, and wipe the water off with a soft cloth. Washing in lukewarm water is best. |
Separate with tissues etc.
When putting away the tableware, please stack lacquerware separately from ceramics etc. Place tissue or soft cloth between each item. |
Please store away from places with frequent changes in temperature, such as those where air conditioners or heaters are often used. |
Lacquerware that is rarely used should sometimes be taken out and inspected. |
If you feel the gloss has disappeared: wipe the whole surface and then rub in a very small amount of canola oil with a cotton ball, before wiping clean with a dry cloth. |
