Arashiyama Cormorant Fishing

Enter a fantastic world at this traditional summer event.
Atraditional method of river fishing “Ukai”, that involves skillful manipulation of cormorants. With its long history, this summer tradition has been viewed for more than 1,000 years, since the Heian period.
Customers can even ride in a Yakatabune boat (about 1 hour onboard, bringing your own meals is allowed). Enjoy this fantastic scene at Arashiyama that also includes flickering bonfires.
