A splendid scenic spot, "the Moon Garden", where moonlight reflects up from its shinjiike pond.
At the World Heritage Site of Kiyomizu-dera temple, lies one Japan's scenic spot, Jojuin Garden. Known as “the Moon Garden”, it is a decorative pond garden (chisen kanshoshiki) that is beautifully composed of rare stones such as
Tagasode-Chōzubachi and Eboshiishi, together with Japanese White Pines and Japanese camellia. It is also open for a special nighttime viewing in the fall (from November 17 to December 2).
