Kyoto Satsuma Ware, with the appeal of gorgeous colors and detailed design

Satsuma wares were well accepted at the Paris International Exposition in 1867. Since then, a substantial export market to the West was established and Satsuma ware saw unique evolution in various parts of Japan. In Sanjo Awataguchi of Kyoto, "Kyoto Satsuma Ware" was produced from the early Meiji to Taisho periods. Kyoto Satuma Ware is more delicate and gorgeous than original Satsuma Ware. This exhibition displays about 70 works of Kyoto Satsuma Ware which swept through the world if only for a moment.
