Kyoto Confectionery That Has Colored Histrory - Inherited Edo Period Art - Exhibition

Trace the history of Kyoto confectionery - traditional art in the Edo period.

This exhibition traces the history of Kyogashi (Kyoto confectionery), centered on the Edo period when the Japanese confectionery culture blossomed. It includes reproductions of traditional Kyogashi from the design note "Omushi Gashi Ehon" which has been inherited at the confectioner, as well as advertising signage and production manuals. New Kyogashi created by current confectionary artisans are also on display. At this exhibition, you can enjoy the world of Japanese confectionery with a variety of the old and new.
