Kyo-Yuzen Trial Experience
Create gorgeous Japanese patterns using Kyo-Yuzen techniques.
Using dyeing techniques passed down in Kyoto, Marumasu-Nishimuraya has been making hand-painted Yuzen for than 100 years.
One of these Yuzen techniques called “surikomi”, where a paper stencil and a brush is used for dyeing designs, will be taught here along with drawing delicate patterns. Choose from items such as furoshiki, purses, etc., and then take your completed work home with you.
