One of the representative traditional pottery styles of Kyoto, Kiyomizuyaki's name comes from the Kiyomizu neighborhood where the original kiln was said to be located, in the neighborhood on the hills facing Kiyomizu Temple.
The look of this item beautifully conveys the mind of Kyotoites that enjoy a "feast for the eyes". The shimmering white coloring has been treated with a stripping finish that lets the bowl rest comfortably in your hand.
